The Women’s Museum

CAT A FIT-OUT

Bloom conducted the fit-out of The Women’s Museum, a 1,250sq ft arts and community venue in East London for the local council.

This project had two phases which were competitively tendered and included forming internal toilet facilities, kitchen area and open plan event space. A full mechanical and electrical and public health installation was completed with full decoration and finishes as well as subsequent improvements including signage.

Innovations / Efficiencies realised:

  • In line with our sustainability ethos and to maximise the client budget, we sourced and gave some internal doors from our Elstree Way project and gave them a second life in the WCs.
  • To maximise the initial budget, we recommended that the client polish the latex preparation layer. This provided a modern, usable flooring finish which can have a timber floor installed on top at a later stage when budgets allow.
  • We organised and managed a volunteer day to paint the space. This maximised community involvement and minimised costs when the budget ran low.

I really loved working with Bloom and would appoint them again in an instant. They created brilliant work within a tight budget and timeline and were always honest and open about the plans. Communication was clear and easy and always felt like they had our best interests at the centre of the work. They were adaptable to our needs and last min changes with calm consideration! All the team were lovely to work with, and it felt very structured, clear, safe and organised at all times. Would 100% recommend them to anyone.
