Women’s Resource Centre

COMMUNITY IMPACT | EDUCATION

Bloom is delivering the fit-out of a three-storey municipal building in Whitechapel to establish a dedicated Women’s Resource Centre.

The works involve internal strip-out, asbestos removal, reconfiguration of spaces, installation of new partitions, surface finishes, bathrooms, HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, and IT/AV infrastructure. Additional safeguarding features such as radiator casings and protective screening are also part of the design.

The 6,500 sq.ft 1960s building is being adapted into a welcoming, inclusive environment to support women, with a particular focus on the Bangladeshi community. The centre will include a multi-use learning space, an IT suite, on-site childcare, and integrated security systems. The project is being delivered on a fast-track programme that manages technical complexity while ensuring social sensitivity and financial control.

Innovations / Efficiencies realised:

  • Bloom completed the enabling and fit-out phases within a tight 15-week timeline while meeting all safety and compliance standards.
  • Early coordination of security and IT/AV systems with the client ensured functional, user-friendly community spaces.
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders enabled delivery of a responsive, high-quality centre within the available funding and schedule
