Concrete Progress: Queen St, Oxford Project Update

Project Milestones

Our project at Queen St, Oxford, for Fora reached an important milestone recently with a carefully executed concrete pour on Oxford’s busy High Street.

Working within strict council guidelines and a narrow early morning window, the team carried out the pour quickly and efficiently, completing all activity before 10am to minimise disruption to the public and local businesses.

This milestone marks the successful completion of infilling the floor plates back to the new fire escape stair we have constructed. This is a key step in the cut-and-carve programme. The outcome is clear: additional lettable area has now been created for our client, enhancing the commercial value of the building while ensuring safety and compliance.

Next steps will see our team building up blockwork walls to form the core walls. These will provide the necessary structural separation between the new fire escape and the existing floor plates, further strengthening the building’s adaptability and resilience.

At Bloom, this project reflects our strengths in:

  • Delivering complex retrofits and structural alterations in sensitive, high-footfall locations
  • Balancing programme efficiency with safety and minimal disruption
  • Adding tangible value for clients through intelligent construction solutions

As the project progresses, we’re proud to be shaping a future-fit space in the heart of Oxford, blending precision, sustainability, and client-focused outcomes.
