ENABLING WORKS | CUT & CARVE | OCCUPIED BUILDING
Bloom delivered enabling works at a key commercial block in central Oxford. The project supported occupation of a new anchor tenant while allowing a larger future development to proceed. Works included removing and reconfiguring a fire escape stair to serve more floors and increase net internal area, along with temporary works, demolition, structural steel and infills, dry riser, sprinkler and smoke extract installations, crane lifts, shopfront and roof repairs, and window and door upgrades.
The live building, previously housed Halifax bank and required coordinated phasing. Its central location added logistical challenges and involved close coordination with neighbours, local authorities, and contractors. Delivered under a JCT D&B contract from Stage 2 information, the project maintained strict adherence to budget and objectives.
