With a degree in Civil Engineering, John began his career at Multiplex in Australia, working as both a project engineer and quantity surveyor on major healthcare and residential developments before being transferred to the UK. In 2019, he joined a refurbishment contractor, where he quickly progressed to leading the commercial team on projects valued up to £10m.
Later that year, John moved to The Thornton Partnership, initially managing contracts as a project manager. He soon transitioned to the commercial side, rising swiftly to head the commercial team thanks to his strong technical and financial acumen.
In 2023, John became Commercial Director at the newly rebranded Bloom Construction Group. He now oversees project costing and ensures our subcontractor network consistently delivers the high-quality results our clients expect.
